Frequently Asked Questions

I have roaming data, and I would like to know whether it is valid in the country I plan to travel to?

On the home screen of the Yettel app, under Roaming Data / Western Balkans from the package, you can see the available amount of roaming data. This data can be used in the following countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania, and AP Kosovo and Metohija.

If your plan includes data for countries other than the Western Balkans, this allowance can be used throughout Europe, as well as in Russia, Australia, Azerbaijan, the Dominican Republic, Egypt, Georgia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Israel (including the operator Jawal Palestine), Japan, Armenia, South Africa, South Korea, Canada, Qatar, Kazakhstan, China (excluding the Macao Special Administrative Region), Mexico, the United States, Singapore, Thailand, and the UAE.This allowance cannot be used in the Western Balkans countries.

For more details about the terms and conditions of your tariff plan, please visit: Yettel tariff plans.

I have roaming data. Do I need to configure anything else to be able to use it?

In the Yettel app, under Services / Roaming / Roaming Settings, check whether the roaming service is active on your number.

If the roaming service is active, your phone will automatically connect to a foreign operator's network when you cross the border. This means that you will be able to make and receive calls, send and receive SMS messages, and use mobile data.

If your number does not automatically connect to a network, you should check your device settings in the Mobile Networks section:

  • In the Network Operator option, change network selection from automatic to manual, and once the list of available networks appears, select an available operator. If you experience difficulties, try connecting to different operators several times.
  • To use mobile data while roaming, make sure that mobile data is enabled on your device.
  • Depending on your device type, these settings may be located under Settings / Roaming Data, Settings / Mobile Networks / Data Roaming, or Mobile Data / Data Roaming.

If your device menu is in English, the most common setting names are Settings > Mobile Data > Data Roaming or Settings > Mobile Networks > Data Roaming.

Will my roaming data be blocked once I use up the entire data allowance included in my plan?

Will my roaming data be blocked once I use up the entire data allowance included in my plan? Once all available data traffic in the Western Balkans region has been used, further data usage will be blocked to protect you from excessive charges. To continue using data while roaming, you can activate one of the available add-ons.

If your plan includes data for countries other than the Western Balkans, once the available data allowance has been used up, further data usage will be charged according to the roaming tariff active on your number. In the Yettel app, under Services / Active Services / Active Tariff, you can check which roaming tariff is currently active on your number. We recommend activating the Unlimited 20 roaming tariff if it is not already active. This tariff includes 20 MB of data per day, and after the included allowance is used, the speed is reduced to 32 Kbps until the tariff validity period expires. The tariff defines how roaming services are charged, and the daily allowance is charged only if you use mobile data while roaming. You can activate the tariff by dialing *120*1#.

Do I need to connect to a specific network while roaming in order to use my Western Balkans data allowance?

To use your Western Balkans data allowance, simply connect to any mobile operator in one of the Western Balkans countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania, or AP Kosovo and Metohija).

Is data usage charged in the Western Balkans countries?

In the Western Balkans region, you can use your number as if you were at home. The amount of data included in your Western Balkans package can be viewed on the home screen of the Yettel app, under Roaming Internet / Western Balkans from the package.

Before entering a Western Balkans country, you should manually connect to an operator belonging to the country you are traveling to. This is especially important in border areas, as if automatic network selection is enabled, your phone may automatically connect to the strongest available signal at that moment.

Can I call Serbia for free from Western Balkans countries (Montenegro, BiH, etc.)?

When you call Serbia from one of the Western Balkans countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania, and AP Kosovo and Metohija), the calls will not be charged. These are roaming calls covered under the "Roaming Like at Home" model.

However, when you call a number from Serbia to one of the Western Balkans countries, the call is charged according to the international tariff price list.

Will I be charged for answering a call while I am in one of the Western Balkans countries?

If you are located in one of the Western Balkans countries, incoming calls will not be charged. These are roaming calls covered under the "Roaming Like at Home" model.

Can I use domestic add-ons in the Western Balkans countries?

Domestic add-ons can also be used in the Western Balkans region if they are activated in the home network. For more information on how to use tariff add-ons in the Western Balkans region, click here.

What does the appropriate behavior policy mean?

The Fair Use Policy is applied when, over the last 120 days, a number is used more in Western Balkans roaming than in the network in Serbia.

In accordance with Western Balkans roaming regulations, Yettel has the right to charge an additional fee to users who violate the Fair Use Policy conditions defined by RATEL for the use of traffic in the networks of operators operating in the region.

You can find detailed terms at the following link: Fair Use Policy.
