Yettel Acquires 5G Spectrum

Commercial Launch of 5G Services in December

Belgrade, November 14, 2025 – Yettel has successfully participated in the 5G radio frequency spectrum auction organized by the Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (RATEL), held from November 3 to 7, 2025.

Yettel acquired 5G spectrum in the 700 MHz, 2600 MHz, and 3.6 GHz bands and renewed its spectrum rights for the 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, and 2100 MHz bands for a total value of more than €100 million. Once the regulatory process is complete, Yettel will begin the technical rollout and commercial launch of its 5G services.

“We’re ready to bring 5G to our customers as soon as we receive the official license. At Yettel, we prioritize maintaining the highest network quality while continually introducing new services to the market. We already offer a wide range of 5G devices, enabling our customers to experience all the benefits of these new technologies immediately. The investment level in spectrum and technology is significant, but 5G is an essential foundation for further growth, and we will launch it in December,” said Mike Michel, CEO of Yettel.

The main advantages of 5G include higher speeds, reduced signal latency, increased capacity for remote operations, support for more connected devices, and the flexibility to tailor connectivity to the specific needs of various industries. It also delivers ultra-low data transmission delay and supports simultaneous connectivity for a large number of customers.

Yettel, part of e& PPF Telecom Group, has been operating in the Serbian market since 2006. Convergent telecommunication (mobile, fixed, and cable TV) and financial services are available to customers in more than 130 shops, as well as through the Yettel applications. Yettel network won the “Best in Test” award nine times in a row, as confirmed by benchmarks conducted by the international company Umlaut, while 5G is the next step in network technology development.
