Yettel and UNICEF for a Safer Digital Environment for Children and Young People

Belgrade, May 27, 2026 – During the panel discussion "Partnerships as Drivers of Social and Systemic Change," organized by UNICEF at this year's CSR Conference, Yettel presented the results of more than 14 years of partnership with UNICEF in the areas of digital safety and inclusion, as well as joint initiatives aimed at strengthening the digital skills of children, parents, and teachers.

At a time when children and young people face increasingly complex challenges, from online risks to unequal access to digital knowledge and skills, long-term partnerships play a vital role in creating a safer and more supportive environment for their growth and development.

Through educational initiatives, workshops, and publications, Yettel and UNICEF continuously work to help children and young people use digital technologies safely, responsibly, and with confidence.

"Children's online safety and the development of digital knowledge and skills are a shared responsibility. Our long-standing partnership with UNICEF has delivered concrete and measurable results in educating children, parents, and teachers, which is why we remain committed to supporting initiatives that promote the safe and responsible use of digital technologies," said Milica Begenišić, ESG Manager at Yettel.

A key focus of the partnership is strengthening digital literacy and fostering a safer online environment. As technology continues to evolve rapidly, it is essential that children not only have the support of adults but also the knowledge and skills to recognize online risks, protect their personal data, and navigate the digital world responsibly.

"Today, the private sector plays a crucial role in creating an environment where every child can reach their full potential. Partnerships with companies are valuable because they bring together knowledge, innovation, and expertise, while also recognizing the influence businesses have in shaping the world children grow up in. When companies invest in children and young people, they invest in the future workforce, stronger communities, and more sustainable social development. That is why the private sector remains one of UNICEF's long-term partners," said Jelena Kovačević of UNICEF Serbia.

Yettel remains committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen digital skills, promote the safe use of technology, and create equal opportunities for children across Serbia.
