Yettel Publishes 2024 ESG Report
100% Green Network with 1.4 Million Devices Recycled
Belgrade, November 6 – Yettel has published its 2024 ESG Report, presenting the company’s results and initiatives in the areas of environmental protection, social responsibility, and corporate governance. The report reaffirms Yettel’s commitment to sustainable business practices and the development of a digital society in line with the ESG strategy of the e&PPF Group.
Once again this year, Yettel has been recognized as Serbia’s leading telecommunications operator in environmental responsibility, according to research conducted by the independent agency Kantar. The company UMLAUT awarded Yettel two recognitions, for the best mobile network quality in Serbia for the ninth consecutive time, and for the best home internet service for the second year in a row.
The ESG Report highlights that the Yettel mobile network is 100% green, as it is fully powered by renewable energy sources. The company’s activities are focused on reducing energy consumption, saving fuel, and managing materials and waste efficiently.
As part of its recycling program, active since 2021, Yettel and its customers have recycled more than 1.4 million devices, over 100 tons of electronic waste. During 2024, more than 140,000 customers switched to e-billing, saving approximately 1.76 million sheets of paper and 1.54 million envelopes.
Through the Eco Bonus initiative, which recycles paper and plastic waste on behalf of customers, more than 13,500 participants have joined by the end of the year, with over 725 tons of plastic and 347 tons of paper and cardboard collected.
In addition to environmental initiatives, Yettel, through the Yettel Foundation and its partnership with UNICEF, implements programs focused on education in digital skills and safe internet use.
“We are aware that digital connectivity brings many opportunities but also challenges, especially for children and vulnerable groups. That’s why, for thirteen years now, we have been implementing various programs aimed at educating and empowering users of all generations to use digital technologies safely and responsibly. Our approach to sustainability is based on the belief that it is the path toward a more resilient society and more successful business operations,” said Milica Begenišić, Yettel’s ESG Manager.
