New Year’s Eve in the sign of digital communications in Yettel network

Hundreds of terabytes of data and more than a million SMS messages marked the celebration of 2026

Belgrade, January 1, 2025 – During the New Year’s Eve over 720 TB of data were exchanged in Yettel network, representing the increase of as much as 32 percent compared to the last year.

Over 1.4 million calls went through Yettel network from 23 h on December 31, 2025 till 11h on January 1, 2026. In that same period almost 2.3 million SMS message were delivered, and around midnight alone that number exceeded one million of SMSs. During New Year’s Eve and the first morning of new year over 28 thousand text SMS messages were sent abroad.

This New Year too, customers were very active on social networks. One million and 67 thousand mobile telephony users sent messages over social networks, and 145,8 TB of data were transferred. Over Yettel home optic internet, via social networks 41,7 TB of data were transferred. The maximum throughput of data of 206,1 gigabytes per second, was reached in Yettel fixed network, which represents an increase of 47 percent on relation to a period year ago.

Almost 50 percent users of Yettel TV, spent their first moments of the New Year with TV program. The rise in the number of TV services users compared to the previous New Year’s Eve was 19 percent, and in that same period the users started some video content from Yettel offer over 1.8 million times.
