YETTEL AND UNICEF WORKSHOP WITH PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS
Yettel and UNICEF workshop with primary school students
Belgrade, December 25, 2025 - Within the joint project of Ministry of Education, UNICEF and Yettel “Bridging the digital divide and improving digital safety”, students of “Olga Milošević” primary schools from Smederevska Palanka presented the digital contents on online safety, they have created themselves.
The program is implemented in 30 schools all over Serbia and the aim is to equip children, teachers and parents with knowledge and skills needed for safe and responsible use of the Internet.
Through activities in school clubs and the use of resources from digital technology libraries, students learn about digital safety and actively participate in conveying the knowledge to their peers. The children made several videos to point to their young friends to Internet etiquette and as they say the basic rule of conduct is “A password is like a toothbrush – only you should use it.”
Three brochures were developed within the project under the common name “Digital compass for parents", that give to parents and teachers practical advice and knowledge for conducting open and supportive conservations with children on their digital experience.
“We believe that the key to solutions lies in continuous education and working together. Children, parents and teachers all need to be partners in this process. That is precisely why we have collaborated with UNICEF for many years — an organisation that shares our values and works systemically on strengthen children’s digital literacy and online safety,” said Milica Begenišić, ESG Manager at Yettel.
UNICEF in Serbia implements the partnership programme with institutions and the private sector, with the aim of ensuring long-term and sustainable solutions for safe digital environment for all children.
“Sustainable progress in children’s digital safety is only possible through strong partnerships. Together with Yettel and the Ministry of Education, UNICEF is working to ensure that schools, teachers, parents, and children have the knowledge, tools, and support needed to use the internet safely and responsibly,” said Tanja Ranković, Head of the Education Programme at UNICEF in Serbia.
We are continuing with activities within the programme in schools across Serbia, different initiatives and collaboration with children, teachers and parents.
