Yettel and UNICEF presented “Digital compass for parents”

Belgrade, July 4, 2025 - With Yettel's support, the fifteenth UNICEF Parenting School was recently held, where the “Digital compass for parents” was promoted.

Wishing to contribute to the overcoming of the digital gap and advance children’s safety on the internet, Yettel, together with UNICEF, has published a series of three brochures entitled “Digital compass for parents”. These brochures have been designed so as to give parents and teachers practical tools and relevant information for following and understanding the digital experiences of the kids, while recognising their needs, rights, and security. The aim is to stimulate the adults to be active and present companions in their digital growing up.

As part of the webinar that was organised on this occasion, Prof. dr Dobrinka Kuzmanović, Associate in the preparation of the brochures, Nataša Đurić Lazović, Teacher in the Sixth Belgrade Gymnasium, Marija Vujanić, Director of Communications and Sustainability in Yettel, as well as artist Ana Đurić - Konstrakta, talked about digital transformations that bring multiple possibilities. Also, challenges were stressed, because of which the role of parents and teachers is key in developing healthy digital habits in children.

“We believe that a responsible approach to technology begins with education. Together with UNICEF we want to give parents specific tools so that they can follow the development of their children’s skills and understand the risks and opportunities of the digital world”, said Marija Vujanić, Director of Communications and Sustainability at Yettel.

This is why it is important to include parents’ opinions from different spheres of life. Because experiences differ, but the challenges are frequently similar.

“Today, children grow up in a different world from the one in which we grew up. It is not important for us, parents, to know everything about the technology. It is important that we are present, open, and ready to learn together with our children. That’s why I think that this “Compass” is truly valuable”, said Konstrakta, the artist.

We are continuing to work with UNICEF on promoting digital literacy among children and better connectivity of schools and students with the internet. Apart from issuing publications, plans also include educational workshops and digital tools, which will enable parents and teachers to get actively involved in teaching their children about safe and responsible behaviour in online surroundings.
