Startup Kidz Challenge Completed

Belgrade, December 19, 2025 - The Yettel Foundation supported this year’s Startup Kidz Challenge, a unique educational event for children aged 9 to 14, which concluded with a successful Demo Day recently held at Dorćol Platz.

During the two-day workshops, 50 participants explored the theme “Digital Detectives” and developed solutions to help their peers navigate the challenges of the digital world. The children were divided into 10 teams and, with the support of expert mentors, went through the entire process, from developing an idea to presenting a prototype to a jury and the audience.

“This year’s theme, ‘Digital Detectives,’ fits perfectly with our strategy to advance digital literacy. The digital world offers unlimited opportunities, but it is important to learn how to use it safely, responsibly, and wisely. That is exactly what your projects demonstrate, showing how technology can become a tool for learning, protection, and positive change. We are proud to support an event that inspires the youngest participants to stay curious, think critically, and use digital skills to solve real-world problems,” said Milica Begenišić, Manager of the Yettel Foundation.

Throughout the workshops, the children developed a wide range of skills, from creating logos and building a brand to planning advertising and finances, as well as presenting ideas to a jury. Demo Day gave teams the opportunity to showcase their solutions, and the winning team received a unique experience titled “In the Company of Actor Petar Strugar.” Petar will spend a day with the children at his estate, talking about life, work, and entrepreneurship, with time set aside for relaxation and horseback riding. The Audience Award went to the team that received the most votes and was presented with the board game “Smišljaonica” (Idea Lab).

“Our goal isn’t to make entrepreneurs out of children, but to encourage initiative and an entrepreneurial mindset they can apply in any future path,” said the organizers of the Startup Kidz Challenge.
